SEAGATE KORAT PLANT MANAGER RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS WORKING WOMAN OF THE YEAR 2011 AWARD

Seagate Technology (Thailand) Limited is proud to announce that Korat Plant Manager Mrs. Piangruetai Sivaratana received “The Working Woman of the Year 2011 Award” from the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, Ministry of Labour in conjunction with International Women’s Day celebration. The award was presented by HRH Princess Sriras-mi, the royal consort of HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn.

“We are very proud of Mrs. Piangruetai, who has demonstrated strong leadership qualities and has implemented programs that help develop our operations and employees,” said Mr. Jeff Nygaard, vice president of Seagate Thailand Operations. “Mrs. Piangruetai constantly looks for ways to challenge our employees and bring out the best in them. She truly deserves this award. ”

Mrs. Piangruetai is one of seven recipients of this prestigious award, Outstanding Female Executive Category, selected from a list of 130 candidates of all categories. Total recipient of this award is 29. Award recipients were evaluated through a vigorous selection process. The selection criteria including activities or projects initiated for the company, support for employees’ career advancement and development programs for the local community.

“To be successful in any endeavor, one needs a strong sense of belief in yourself and the ability to remain focused when things get tough,” said Mrs. Piangruetai when asked about her formula for success. “I believe that great management is based on sincerity and good judgment. We need to be passionate about our work, care for our people and emphasize good teamwork. As our team and operations grow, it is only natural that we also reach out and help our society.”

Mrs. Piangruetai holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Songkhla University. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, USA. As Seagate’s Korat plant manager, she is responsible for the overall operation of the Korat manufacturing facility, which employs over 11,000 people in Nakorn Ratchasima province.
