As a leader in online recruitment, JobsDB Recruitment (Thailand) unveils its proactive marketing strategy and key initiatives to develop the largest and most comprehensive databases in Thailand with the aim of increasing job seeker members to one million by the end of 2011.

In view of the tightness of the labour market, the company plans to continuously launch a wide range of promotional activities throughout the year in order to better answer the demands both of job seekers and employers in their search for the right job vacancies and highly qualified candidates.

Noppawan Chulakanista, General Manager of JobsDB Recruitment (Thailand), said that local e-recruitment service providers were forced to adjust their growth strategies amid the stiff competition prompted by the declining trend of the unemployment rate. According to the Thai National Statistical Office, the unemployment rate in June stood at a mere 0.4 percent or 163,000 people, decreasing by 41,000 from May’s level and 296,000 less than the level registered in June last year.

As the unemployment rate declines and highly qualified job candidates become less abundant, firms still have high demands to fill various job vacancies. So, they need an effective recruitment tool for reducing the time and expense of cross-country highly qualified candidate searches, especially when the new government’s policy to raise the daily minimum wage to 300 baht and the monthly salary for new university graduates to 15,000 baht will be implemented soon.

Realising the imminence and importance of this issue, JobsDB allocates a great deal of budget to launch a wide range of promotional activities throughout the year. Employers will have higher opportunities to find the right candidates while job hunters will be able to access favourable job opportunities which meet their requirements.

JobsDB has placed a great emphasis both on offline and online communication channels throughout the year which have gained a good response from target audiences. JobsDB’s offline PR activities include the annual Career Exhibition by JobsDB.com, road shows at leading universities and offices in business districts and advertising in prime city areas by means of billboards and BTS body wrapping.

As for online communication channels, JobsDB builds its own direct paths to job hunters via the key social networks, including Twitter and eight Facebook fan pages categorised by occupations. Innovative solutions like JobsDB iPhone App are designed to facilitate job seekers’ successful searches for related employment opportunities at places and times that are most convenient for them. New job search applications for Blackberry smart phones will also be added soon.

Many more special campaigns are also introduced throughout the year. Both existing and new members are invited to join and win big prizes from JobsDB on its website and Facebook pages such as free accommodation worth over 12,000 baht from the ‘Job Alert’ service and free buffet gift vouchers worth over 20,000 baht for the first four members with the most friends recommended to post their resumes on the JobsDB website in the ‘Member Get Member’ campaign.

‘Update Resume’ is JobsDB’s latest campaign offering members the chance to win many special rewards, including an Esso Cash Card, BTS/MRT Card, Starbucks Card, Central gift voucher, Major M Card and 7-Eleven Value Card. The more resumes that are updated, the more chances members receive to gain four big prizes each worth up to 5,000 baht. The value of the prize will increase by five baht with each updated resume.

These successful continuing campaigns not only help building up JobsDB’s brand awareness, but also have a beneficial effect on employers and job seekers in terms of improving the hiring and job-hunting processes as JobsDB’s database will become larger and more up-to-date. JobsDB believes that this proactive marketing strategy offers customers the situation of win-win in which they gain the maximum benefit.

“As a leading provider of online recruitment services, JobsDB never ceases its advance to maintain its database’s high standard and introduce more cutting-edge technology and innovation to give users an enhanced experience in their search for jobs or candidates,” she added.

With an aim to extend its customer base, JobsDB plans another major revamp of its website by the end of September and will launch new training programmes and promotional campaigns throughout the year. JobsDB.com now has a high-profile reputation among users with over 900,000 job seeker members. The company expects this number to reach one million by the end of the year.
