Introduces to Thai consumers the easy way to upgrade in-house security with series of USB flash memory hard drives that boast antivirus measures and protect against data leakage

Buffalo Inc., a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of storage and wireless network solutions, today announces that the latest high-security innovation in its portable storage range — the RUF2 line of Secure USB flash drives — has arrived in Thailand.

Buffalo’s sleek new capless line of ultra-secure USB drives are capable of data encryption so that if lost or stolen, sensitive business- or personal data cannot be by accessed by the wrong people. They do this through a simple password lock-and-release mechanism which pre-installed Buffalo-developed management software makes possible, and which greatly reduces administrative burden.

All models in the new USB drive series are pre-loaded with virus check software, preventing the transfer of corrupted files to and from the USB drive and home or business computer systems.

“When designing our latest line of Secure USB drives, we took in mind the security needs of all of our customers — individuals and businesses — when it comes to file storage and transfer. USB flash drives are convenient, but are easily lost, stolen and their files can be infected from 3rd party computers,” said Atsuo Shibata, Country Manager, Southeast Asia & Oceania Group at Buffalo Inc. “So we thought, let’s add security and anti-virus protection along with the convenience these devices already provide. Our customers couldn’t be happier with the result.”

Above and beyond their core security features, Buffalo’s Secure USB drives are made in capless slide-type designs so that they can be easily used with one hand. There is no need to worry about losing the cap, and they are easy to carry. An attached strap is designed to add in convenience and reduce the chances of being left behind.

Availability and Capacity

The Secure USB flash drives come in two types — management software compatible with virus check or standard with virus check. The management software-compatible models offer storage capacities ranging from 2 GB to 64 GB. Standard models range from 2 GB to 32 GB.

The entire series is now available through Buffalo’s sole Thailand distributor, The Value Systems Co., Ltd., on Buffalo’s website, and at Buffalo’s flagship store at CentralWorld in Bangkok. The management software-compatible drives start at THB 16,990. Standard drives start at THB 1,990.
