Canon Inc recently announced that six Canon product designs, including cameras, lens and printers, were recognized by iF International Forum Design GmbH with prestigious 2018 iF Design Awards in the product category. The award ceremony took place in Hannover, Germany, with more than 6,400 entries from 54 countries and regions judged by 63 internationally active design experts for awards in seven disciplines: Product, Packaging, Communication, Service Design/User Experience, Architecture, Interior Architecture and Professional Concept.
This year's winning products from Canon are the EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR camera fully equipped with powerful features, EOS M5 premium mirrorless camera ideally wielding capabilities of a DSLR, EF70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM telephoto zoom lens, Pixma G3010 inkjet printer, and MF730/630 series MF 735Cx and LBP650/610 series LBP654Cx multifunctional laser printers.
iF Design Award 2018 (Product) winners
1. Canon EOS 5D Mark IV: It is the tool of many professional photographers all over the world. Compared to its predecessor, Canon has increased the still image quality significantly with higher resolution and wider dynamic range, while the autofocus has become more sensitive. The video function is also much more advanced with quality 4K recording and fast autofocus in live view mode. The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV also features the innovative new Dual Pixel Raw feature, which allows sharpness and background blur to be fine-tuned later. All in all, the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV will remain a class-leading camera for several years to come.
2. Canon EOS M5: A premium mirrorless camera from the EOS M series, featuring the 24.2-megapixel APS-C image sensor and 2.36-million-dot electronic viewfinder in a compact body. Its fast and accurate Dual Pixel CMOS AF system surely fulfils shooting requirements of Canon camera fans.
3. Canon EF70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM: This full-frame telephoto zoom lens is the first EF lens to include a "Lens Information Display" LCD panel which allows user to select either "focusing distance", "focal length" and "shake amount" to be displayed. With newly developed optical construction provide high-resolution and high-contrast images with reduced chromatic aberration and color blurring throughout the entire zoom range. It is also equipped with Nano USM technology and Image Stabilizer with shake compensation up to 4-stop shutter speed.
4. PIXMA Ink Efficient G3010: The G3010 is the ideal printer for homes and small businesses. This multifunction printer copies, prints from, and scans easily to mobile phones, tablets and laptops over Wi-Fi. A 1.2 inch segment LCD display delivers on the basics such as making multiple document copies easy, and also enhances ease of use for a variety of printer configuration options without a PC, including Wi-Fi Setup. The printer also supports direct wireless connection to mobile devices and tablets without a router.
5. MF730/630 series MF 735Cx: A powerful A4 colour laser multi-function printer (MFPs) engineered to produce outstanding printouts in rich and brilliant hues. The latest lineup of MFPs is geared towards the Small Office Home Offices (SOHOs), Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and workgroups within large enterprises, providing users with excellent print quality, absolute convenience and increased work efficiencies.

LBP650/610 series LBP654Cx: A high-performing A4 colour laser single-function printer ideal for Small Office Home Offices (SOHOs), Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and workgroups within large enterprises. Designed to provide ultimate ease of use and improve workplace productivity, the printer offers easy network connections and significant cost savings while producing consistently brilliant-hued business documents.
