Two properties in the Asian Oasis Collection brought home five awards from the recent 2011 Thailand Boutique Awards Ceremony held at the Aksra Theatre in Bangkok. Krungthai Card Company Limited (Public) and Krungthep Turakij Newspaper with Master Card International, the Institute for Small, Medium Enterprises Development (ISMED) and Nok Airlines Company Limited created the Thailand Boutique Awards to recognize small and medium boutique hotel design concept innovators and provide a marketing platform for this important niche in Thailand’s accommodation sector. Asian Oasis’s Lisu Lodge and Lanjia Lodge both received the Gold Award for ‘Thematic Ideas and Culture’ in the mountain accommodation category. The Lisu Lodge near Chiang Mai and the Lanjia Lodge outside of Chiang Rai also received the Silver Award, the highest award offered this year in the category of ‘Green Nature and Environment’. In addition, The Lanjia Lodge received the prestigious award of ‘Outstanding Thematic and Culture’.

The awards were presented to Asian Oasis Founder and Executive Director, Chananya Phataraprasit. The Asian Oasis experiences have generated accolades from the design experts who judged the competition. Chananya explains, “It is our goal to offer our guests experiences in rural Thai life that are fascinating and real, as well as ecologically, environmentally and culturally sensitive. Asian Oasis has embraced many of the design elements of the Akha, Lahu, Lisu and Hmong people. The lodges have incorporated many design features that reflect the rich traditions of the remarkable hilltribe communities in which they are located.”

Asian Oasis owns and operates a unique lodging and cruise company with boats and properties throughout Thailand. Asian Oasis Mythical Journeys is a collection of unique and individual travel experiences which take you through the Kingdom of Thailand from the Northern Province of Chiang Rai to the southern paradise island of Phuket. Each journey shares a pace that has been refined over time, offering a perfect balance of discovery, relaxation and reflection along with meticulous attention to detail, comfort and service.

Founded in 2007, based on experience in the field going back more than 30 years in Thailand, Lisu Lodge and Lanjia Lodge were built on the belief that for a destination to be truly brought to life, a traveler should experience local culture the way it really is. “It is an honor to be recognized at the 2011 Thailand Boutique Awards for our design efforts”, says Chananya, “We take great pride in preserving and promoting the heritage and traditions of these wonderfully unique and culturally rich communities.”
