AirAsia realigns route strategy Bangkok-Colombo flights to operate 3 days per week

AirAsia realigns its route focus by reducing daily flights between Bangkok and Colombo, Sri Lanka to three days per week, starting on 14 June 2012.

Flights FD 3880 from Bangkok to Colombo, and FD 3881 from Colombo to Bangkok will operate on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday as a result of this change.

Passengers who have purchased their tickets for travel after 13 June 2012 can contact the AirAsia call center at 02-515-9999 to proceed with the following options:

1. Passengers may move their flights to an earlier flight or to the next available flight without any additional charges.

2. Passengers may obtain a full refund.

3. Passengers may obtain a credit shell, which can be used in any future purchase transactions on www.airasia.com. The credit shell will be valid within 90 days of being issued.

Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia said, “The change in the operating schedule of our flights between Bangkok and Colombo is a result of our route strategy realignment as we aim to add more flights to our popular routes with high demand. We apologize for any inconveniences caused as a result of this improvement process and we are confident that the changes will maximize our operational efficiency and profitability”.

AirAsia started operating flights between Bangkok and Colombo on 1 March 2012.
