This April, drop by Signor Sassi on the 37th floor of the Anantara Bangkok Sathorn and enjoy our tantalizing lamb promotion and have an opportunity to meet Chef Filipo Pagani, our new executive chef. Before relocating to Bangkok, Chef Filipo was the executive chef at Signor Sassi London for the last five and half years.

As a child, little Filipo knew that he was destined to be a chef. Born 39 years ago in a small town near Venice, Chef Filipo came from a long line of chefs. He never went to school to acquire his culinary skills, but developed them by watching older relatives cook at home. By the age of six, he was able to cook a complete meal. His professional journey included time spent in some of Italy’s most amazing hotels and great restaurants. As his talent developed, he progressed up the ladder from trainee to executive chef.

As Chef Filipo’s career advanced, his culinary talents did not go unnoticed. In late 2008, the San Carlo Restaurants Group, the owner and the operator of Signor Sassi London, approached Chef Filipo with an offer to join one of the most successful Italian restaurant operators in the United Kingdom. As the Group’s Executive Development Chef, his responsibilities have included improving existing menus and creating new dishes for the restaurants owned by the group. He has also opened more than 5 restaurants in UK and abroad, including Signor Sassi Bangkok.

Chef Filipo’s goal in Bangkok is simple yet challenging: to ensure that every dish at the new Bangkok branch has the same authentic taste as the original restaurant in London. Late last year he was hired as our full-time, executive chef, responsible for overseeing kitchen operations and creating special menus for auspicious occasions.

According to Bangkok’s new, talented chef, he couldn’t be happier in his new role: ‘Cooking is my passion. I guess one could say that cooking is in my blood. I can’t think of anything else that I would rather do than cooking.’

With top quality, imported lamb and a breathtaking view 37 floors above the city of Bangkok, diners have the perfect ingredients for a wonderful dinner experience. From now until April 30th, Chef Filipo and his culinary team will delight diners with 4 delicious, imported lamb menus items. The 4 scrumptious choices include: Abbachio Ligure, Baked Rack of Australian Lamb Marinated with Aromatic Herbs, served with Red Wine Sauce; Lamb Milanese, Pan-fried Lamb with Parmesan Cheese and Egg; Lamb Noisettes Signor Sassi, served with Mint Gravy Sauce; and Grilled Lamb on a Bed of Straw, served with gravy. During the promotion, every lamb dish ordered will be accompanied by a complementary glass of red wine from the award-winning Beni di Bastasiolo - a marriage made in heaven.
