A prominent member of the Italian Art Nouveau movement, Galileo Chini (1873—1956) was a decorator, designer, painter, and potter who lived in Bangkok from 1911 to 1913 and created frescos for the palace. Inspired by early tin-glazed earthenware, the work of oriental potters, and paintings by Gustav Klimt, Chini specialized in stoneware vases with richly colored luster decoration.
At the memorable evening there will be a special presentation of four decorative mosaics by Thai artist, Maitree Siriboon, and a master of Casato Jewelry practising his artistic workmanship. Delicacies inspired by Galileo Chini and prepared by Rossini's gifted Chef, Paride Noviello will be served.
A tribute to Galileo Chini will be held in Rossini’s from 18:00 hrs.
