Mr. Chokchai Panyayong, THAI Acting President, presided over the opening ceremony and launched the event, and Mr. Teerapol Chotichanapibal, THAI Executive Vice President, Commercial Department, joined the ceremony.
Mr. Wiwat Piyawiroj, THAI Vice President, Sales and Distribution, Thailand and Indochina, said that the Rak Khun Tao Fah 2014 event was held during 2-4 May 2014 from 10.00-19.00 hours to offer special deals to customers and to celebrate THAI’s 54th Anniversary. Customers took advantage of promotional fares on all routes for travel to destinations all over Thailand and worldwide, as well as took part in several activities to win prizes at the event. Participating credit card companies also offered special offers.
The Rak Khun Tao Fah 2014 opening ceremony took place on 2 May 2014 at 15.00 hours at the Siam Paragon Shopping Center, Fashion Hall, on the 1st Floor. During the three-day promotional fair, the Company held special activities, which included an offer for promotional fares on tickets on worldwide routes to destinations served by THAI and THAI Smile, as well as Royal Orchid Holidays package tours. Customers who purchased tickets valued at 54,000 Baht or more (in one day) at the event were entitled to play games to win free domestic or international tickets. A total of 54 tickets could be won at the event as well as other prizes. Famous performing artists were present at the Rak Khun Tao Fah 2014 event, such as “Ken” Phupoom Pongpanu, “Taew” Natapohn Tameeruks, and “Pat” Napapa Tantakun.
Customers were invited to participate in a THAI social media “Selfie with THAI” activity at the Rak Khun Tao Fah 2014 event and take a “selfie” photo of their self or in a group with a THAI logo in the photo, share the photo on Instagram and include the hashtag #RakKhunTaoFah. The first 10 people who posted their photos according to the conditions were awarded prizes.
THAI pilots were interviewed about being an airline pilot in a special activity called “TG Captain Idol.” Those who visited the event took part in the Walk Rally, for a chance to win two roundtrip tickets from Bangkok to Hong Kong on THAI (winner to be announced on 4 May 2014).
Customers who applied for Royal Orchid Plus (ROP) frequent flyer membership at the Rak Khun Tao Fah 2014 event received up to 3,000 bonus miles. Customers were able to check their mileage accumulation, change membership information, and took part in the fun question-answer games to win gifts from ROP.
During 28 April to 5 May 2014, in advance of the Rak Khun Tao Fah 2014 event, customers made reservations and issued tickets through the THAI website at www.thaiairways.com. Customers who purchased tickets online through THAI’s website showed their ticket at the event during 2-4 May 2014 in order to receive a gift voucher that may be exchanged for a commemorative gift at THAI Shop. Customers may also purchase special fare tickets, which are on offer at the Rak Khun Tao Fah 2014 event, from THAI Sales Offices nationwide and travel agents.
