Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) officially moved into its new home at Heathrow’s Terminal 2 (T2) on 28 August 2014 and marked the occasion with a party.

Mr. Wit Kitchathorn (fourth from right), General Manager of Thai Airways International, United Kingdom, said "It was great to be present at this seamless move into T2, auguring a new era of travel in the UK. We are very proud to now be housed with our other Star Alliance Members in the state-of-the-art terminal. The check-in area is conveniently located next to the Tax Refund Counter making it even smoother for our passengers."

Passengers on the inaugural T2 THAI flight to Bangkok were surprised at check-in to be given fresh orchid corsages and commemorative key rings to mark this special occasion. This, together with a performance of traditional Thai dance and music, created a real party atmosphere.

Those travelling from Bangkok on the inaugural flight into Heathrow T2, arriving at 7.15am on TG910, did not miss out either as they were greeted at the arrival gate by a group of Beefeaters and Guardsmen and given their own souvenir key rings. At the new T2 terminal, THAI will use United Club and United Global First Lounge for its First and Business Class passengers.

Thai Airways International (THAI) is proud to have been flying from the UK for over 40 years and today offers two non-stop flights each day from London Heathrow to Bangkok with onwards connections throughout Thailand and the Far East. Serving 70 cities across five continents, THAI is proud to be one of the largest airlines in Southeast Asia.

THAI will continue to operate two aircraft types on its London to Bangkok route; the newly retrofitted Boeing 747-400 provides a daily day-time flight while the Airbus A340-600 operates the overnight service. Regardless of class, flight time or terminal every THAI passenger will continue to experience legendary service and first-class cuisine.
