Members Get More - Marriott Mobile Campaign Launches with More Benefits

Wednesday 03 September 2014 08:41
Marriott International is further rewarding members with their new ‘Members Get More’ campaign, giving tech savvy members more travel benefits with the help of their mobile device.

Launched today at Marriott Hotels, JW Marriott, Renaissance Hotels, Courtyard by Marriott, Marriott Executive Apartments and Autograph Collection Hotels throughout Asia Pacific - Marriott Rewards Members will be able to experience a queue-free zone at the front desk when checking-in thanks to mobile check-in before arrival on the Marriott Mobile App, giving them more time to experience the hotel and destination.

Marriott Rewards members get more than free room nights or air travel, with extra benefits including free Wi-Fi, mobile management of reservations, dining discounts, room upgrades* offering access to the Executive Lounge* for Elite members and member only specials available**.

The Mobile App gives Marriott Rewards members more control of their travel experience. With mobile check-in, members can now communicate directly with the hotel to advise of their estimated time of arrival to allow for an expedited check-in. Mobile check-out let members close out the bill without stopping at the front desk and ensures receipt of a digital copy of the folio for future reference or expense reporting. And this is only the beginning - Marriott believes that great mobile functionality combined with great in person service gives travellers more control of their stay and will make travel easier.

More than just checking-in and checking-out, members can also make online bookings, access their Marriott Rewards account, find and reserve hotels nearest to their current location with GPS, browse useful city information, view, modify or cancel upcoming reservations, add them to the calendar and more. The Marriott Mobile App can be downloaded from iTunes or Google Play stores.

For a limited period only, and exclusive to the first 100 Marriott Rewards members who check-in with their mobile devices twice between 4 September and 4 October, a sensational 'Hit Gold Faster' will upgrade these selected few to Gold Elite status, giving them even more benefits such as 25% extra Marriott Rewards points for future Marriott stays, complimentary room upgrade and Executive Lounge access and breakfast.

Targeting a key demographic clientele - Generation Y travellers, the 'Members Get More' campaign will be launched across multiple channels, including social media, member e-Newsletters, in-flight and across over 500,000 business, news, travel and lifestyle websites. Major airports throughout the region will carry impactful billboards with key ‘MORE’ messaging.

“We are very excited about the launch of the ‘Members Get More’ campaign for our Marriott Rewards members because it responds directly to what members are telling us…they want MORE benefits and they want them sooner. Our tech savvy and Generation Y travelers want more interesting and tangible, day to day benefits when they travel. With this campaign we asked ourselves how we could help make travel easier and more memorable. Giving our members “More” will mean things like surprising and delighting them when they least expect it, enabling the tech savvy to connect with us via their mobile device to streamline processes like check-in and check-out, member exclusive launch events for new hotels across Asia Pacific and even an invitation to co-creation events to help us test and design future concepts for our hotels. We’re experimenting with a number of other things that will make being a member much more compelling than just earning points and redeeming for future travel. This campaign is more than an advertising promise, it is a commitment to give our members more access and more benefits when they travel , now vs. later.” said Peggy Fang Roe, Chief Marketing & Sales & Marketing Officer of Marriott International Asia Pacific.

Marriott Rewards is free to join and has no blackout dates, and members can earn and redeem points at more than 3,800 Marriott International hotels around the world and at Marriott Rewards exclusive luxury partner, The Ritz-Carlton. The program has won many accolades for its excellence, including the Freddie Award for "Best Hotel Rewards Program in the Americas" six years in a row, along with the 2010 and 2011 Frequent Travel Award for "Best Hotel Rewards Program." It has also been named best hotel rewards program by the readers of U.S. News & World Report, about.com, Business Traveler, Global Traveler, Executive Travel and Business Week magazines.
