Thai AirAsia has gathered over 500 volunteers from amongst its staff, together with its partners and government agencies, to engage in post-flood rehabilitations in Nakhon Si Thammarat, cleaning tourist destinations in Khanom district and distributing relief bags to residents of Pak Phanang district.

Ms. Witchunee Kantapeng, Director of Ground Operations for Thai AirAsia, stated that due to Thai AirAsia's firm operations in Nakhon Si Thammarat and the strong support it constantly received from both public and private sectors, the airline is fully determined to lend a hand with rehabilitation efforts to clean the province's flood-hit tourism sites.

"To South with Love" saw AirAsia transporting over 500 volunteers and state officials to Nakhon Si Thammarat to rehabilitate the travel sites of Khanom district and to distribute necessities such as drinking water, disposable lavatories, sanitary napkins and children's toys. All of the relief goods were donated by the airline's partners; Tesco Lotus Co., Siam Cement Foundation, Seefah, iCare Foundation and Thai News Network (TNN) Co.

"We are one with the people of Nakhon Si Thammarat and we are here today to take part in the province's post-flood rehabilitation both by cleaning up its tourism sites and by handing out donations to its people. We plan to hold many more activities to help the people of Nakhon Si Thammarat get back on their feet and wish them strength," Mrs. Witchunee said.

AirAsia continues to be open for transportation assistance of donated goods— both from the public and private sectors— to flood-hit areas of the southern region at no cost. For more information, please contact Thai AirAsia's Corporate Communications Department at Tel. 02-562-5824.
