Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President, Aviation Safety, Security & Standards, said that during the annual Loy Kratong and Floating Lantern Festival, many provinces in Northern Thailand release the floating lanterns that could pose an aviation hazard. As a security precaution and in accordance to safety standards, THAI has cancelled and rescheduled certain flights on 3-4 November 2017. The flight details are as follows;
1. Cancel roundtrip flights from Bangkok - Chiang Mai during 3-4 November 2017 as follows:
1.1 Flight TG120 from Bangkok - Chiang Mai during 3-4 November 2017
1.2 Flight TG121 from Chiang Mai - Bangkok during 3-4 November 2017
2. Flight schedule adjustment during 3-4 November 2017 as follows:
2.1 Flight TG103 on 3 November 2017, normally departs from Chiang Mai at 10.05 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 11.25 hours, is changed to depart from Chiang Mai at 09.55 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 11.15 hours
2.2 Flight TG105 on 3 November 2017, normally departs from Chiang Mai at 10.40 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 11.55 hours, is changed to depart from Chiang Mai at 12.05 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 13.15 hours
2.3 Flight TG116 during 3-4 November 2017, normally departs from Bangkok at 17.10 hours and arrives in Chiang Mai at 18.30 hours, is changed to depart from Bangkok at 16.00 hours and arrives in Chiang Mai at 17.10 hours
2.4 Flight TG117 during 3-4 November 2017, normally departs from Chiang Mai at 19.20 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 20.40 hours, is changed to depart from Chiang Mai at 18.00 hours and arrives in Bangkok at 19.10 hours
