Trendy neighbourhood hotel creates unique Destination Guide to On Nut, opening up a wealth of immersive, experiential activities in Bangkok up-and-coming district

X2 Vibe Bangkok Sukhumvit, the trendy neighbourhood hotel for millennial travellers, is encouraging guests to "Live Like a Local" in On Nut, the Thai capital's vibrant, up-and-coming district.

One of the world's great tourist cities, Bangkok is a magnet for international travellers. But as the city's most popular areas become overcrowded, new areas are starting to emerge, attracting adventurous, millennial visitors. On Nut is one of these exciting new neighbourhoods.

Just a few skytrain stops from the heart of Bangkok, On Nut is nestled between downtown Sukhumvit and ultra-cool Thong Lor, putting the city's main highlights within easy reach. But away from the tourist hotspots, On Nut provides many wonderful examples of authentic Thai life.

To open up this dynamic district to guests, X2 Vibe Bangkok Sukhumvit has created a new Destination Guide to On Nut, as part of its new "Live Like a Local" campaign. Curious guests can now use the guide to uncover a series of authentic urban activities that can't be found in the usual tourist handbooks.

From trendy cafes to hidden temples, outdoor activities, public pastimes and even simple trips to the supermarket, the new Destination Guide enables guests to immerse themselves in the day-to-day life and culture of their destination. All eleven activities and attractions can be easily reached from the hotel.

"With our residential location, cool community vibe and combination of short- and long-stay accommodation, X2 Vibe Bangkok Sukhumvit appeals to the new generation of millennial travellers," said Mr Charin Tuncharoen, GM of X2 Vibe Bangkok Sukhumvit. "Our guests are seeking a new type of travel experience, less focused on traditional tourist attractions and more on local, authentic cultural exploration.

"Our new 'Live Like a Local' campaign and Destination Guide will open up our neighbourhood, revealing an array of attractions and activities that few visitors have a chance to discover. From shops to supermarkets, farms to food courts, temples to Thai boxing clubs, these are truly local experiences which are genuinely popular with Bangkokians.

"We are delighted to introduce this new Destination Guide to guests at X2 Vibe Bangkok Sukhumvit. I know that our guests will embrace the opportunity to 'Live Like a Local', however long they stay," Mr Charin concluded.

Attractions featured in the initial Destination Guide include Sukhumvit Road's vibrant W District, where young hipsters hang out, plus the trendy cafes and street-side food stalls of On Nut. Guests seeking Bangkok's spiritual side can head to Wat Mahabut, with its enchanting shrine, or Wat Bangna Nok Pier, the waterfront temple and monastery where the canals teem with catfish.

Showcasing everyday life in this quarter of Bangkok, Tesco Lotus Sukhumvit 50 is a vast hypermarket which bustles with local produce and people, and 7-11 provides the ultimate convenience for millions of people across the city, day or night.

Alternatively, guests can join the locals at an outdoor beef barbecue, enjoy a traditional workout at a Muay Thai boxing gym, discover quaint "European villages", or take a break from the bustle of the city with a visit to an urban farm.

All of these activities and attractions have been hand-selected by X2 Vibe Bangkok Sukhumvit to provide guests with the most in-depth and immersive experiences, uncovering the "real" Bangkok.

Following the launch of the first Destination Guide in Bangkok, the "Live Like a Local" campaign will be rolled out across the X2 and X2 Vibe brands. This will enable guests to explore authentic local experiences in destinations such as Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Kanchanaburi, Hua Hin, Buriram and more.
