Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) grandly unveils "AOT DIGITAL AIRPORTS : Living Airports"for its six airports. Suvarnabhumi airport takes the lead in connecting to 16 partner airports around the world as AOT is transforming itself into a full-scale digital organisation to enhance its business competitiveness.

AOT President Nitinai Sirismatthakarn says AOT DIGITAL AIRPORTS: Living Airports is the innovation that links all information technology systems of airports for the conveniences of airport service users. The linkage is about to reach the tourism industry outside airports, including transport and domestic tour services, and also 16 partner airports around the world. This year marks a milestone of AOT as it has Digital Airports, Digital Offices, Digital Operation, Digital Cargo and Digital Platform and will become a full-scale digital organisation in the future.

From now on, Digital Platform will play important roles in AOT's operations. It is the complete transformation of AOT and its business administration. The digital connection will cover not only AOT but also all leading relevant organisations both in and outside the country. Communications with systems at airports will happen in virtual reality. Initially the communications will occur via smartphone application software.

AOT DIGITAL AIRPORTS is a technological development in the form of application software compatible with portable devices including smartphones and tablet computers. It is created to improve the efficiency and services of airports for the sake of passengers' conveniences and the promotion of businesses at airports. Digital Platform will cover all the six airports of AOT. It will begin with Suvarnabhumi airport and later expand to 16 partner airports around the world. The application software can facilitate airport management. For example, it can give real-time reports on the numbers of passengers at specific locations. AOT can use information from the application software to plan its operations and improve the efficiency of its airport management. Besides, it will better provide passengers with more information they need and thus give them greater experiences.

Initially the application will have functions for passengers to use. 1) Flight Information will provide passengers with information about flights, check-in rows and luggage. 2) Map and Navigation will offer the Intelligence Mapof passenger terminals and lead passengers to their desired locations. 3) Transport & Car Park will offer information about public transport services and transport inside airports. 4) Facilities & Serviceswill share information on facilities inside airports. 5)Shop & Dinewill gather information on products, restaurants, promotions and privileges. 6) Flight Alertswill alert passengers to prepare themselves before heading for their airports. 7) Suggestion & Help Deskwill receive feedbacks. 8) Mobile Application Translation will give translation services in five languages: Thai, Chinese, English, Russian and Japanese.

Mr. Nitinai says that many partners that are leading organisations are aware of the importance of new digital platforms. Therefore, they support the development and offer privileges to application users. The partners include PTG Energy Public Company Limited, Honda Automobile (Thailand) Company Limited, Thai Samsung Electronics Company Limited and Muang Thai Insurance Public Company Limited.

Dr. Dhanant Subhadrabandhu, Senior Executive Vice President Marketing and Service of CAT Telecom Public Company Limited (CAT), says CAT sees that digital platforms will noticeably change everyday life and businesses. Business organisations must undergo serious and continuous transformation. AOT DIGITAL AIRPORTS will truly introduce "smart life" to travelers. It will reform airport management, improve the life of passengers and considerably increase business values.

As a national provider of digital and telecommunications services, CAT is proud to take part by providing free WiFi services at the six airports of AOT to support AOT DIGITAL AIRPORTS. This responds to the government's policy to have Thai airports internationally recognised through digital transformation and to develop Thailand into a leading hub of global aviation.

Mr. Sumeet Sharma, Head of Business Development, Next Billion Users (SEA), Google Asia Pacific, says the world has entered the era of big changes in which digital technology has become an important part of life. Through digital channels, solutions and services can be acquired only with the touches of fingertips. AOT DIGITAL AIRPORTS will meet the needs of consumers. It is the first step to effectively communicate with millions of travelers. It is a real challenge of aviation business.

CAT and Google Station see the importance of digital platforms and are ready to participate by offering free WiFi services at the six airports of AOT. The services called "Free Airport Google Station WiFi by CAT" is available at the super high speed of 30/30 Mbps free of charge.

Mr. Nitinai says AOT is determined to provide passengers and service users at airports with convenient services by applying innovations and technology to ensure efficient
