ENGIE appoints Paul Maguire as Regional Chief Executive Officer for Asia-Pacific business unit

ENGIE Group, one of the world's energy leaders, today announced the appointment of Paul Maguire as Regional Chief Executive Officer for Asia-Pacific with effect from 1 June 2017. Paul Maguire assumes this role from predecessor Jan Flachet, who retires after 39 years with the company.

A veteran of the energy sector, Paul Maguire will oversee the Group's operations and development of decarbonised, digitized, and decentralised energy solutions in Asia-Pacific, continuing ENGIE's commitment to support the region in its ambition towards sustainable access to energy for all.

Prior to this appointment, Paul Maguire was President and Chief Executive Officer of Senoko Energy Pte Ltd, Singapore's largest power-generation firm that is owned by an international consortium which includes ENGIE. During his tenure, he redirected the company's business strategy and successfully garnered close engagement and collaboration with employees and stakeholders.

Before Senoko, Paul Maguire was the Chief Executive Officer of Simply Energy, the retail arm of ENGIE Australian Energy.
Paul Maguire has a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Victoria University and a Master of Business Administration from RMIT University in Melbourne.
