BANGKOK--6 Jun--PRNewswire/InfoQuest

Wuxi Suntech Power Co., Ltd. ("Suntech") announces today that it attends the Renewable Energy 2018 (the 14th South East Asia's Renewable Energy Technology Exhibition and Conference) which is held at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre.

More than 350 enterprises from 16 countries and regions attend this Exhibition, which attracts over 20,000 audiences. This Exhibition gets the support from the Energy Department and Industrial Department of Thailand and is highly recognized by professionals in the energy industry. After the development of 13 years, this Exhibition has become the largest professional energy exhibition and the benchmark of the industry in Thailand.

Suntech attends the Renewable Energy 2018 with several high-efficiency modules. Therein, high-efficiency polycrystalline half-cell modules are highly appreciated on this Exhibition. Compared to standard modules, the half-cell module has significant advantages in system applications. First of all, with half-cell technology, the module power can be up to 10W higher than traditional design, and this can reduce the system cost with higher module efficiency. Secondly, unit solar cell current reduces by 50% with half-cell technology and the cell temperature during operation will drop by 20~25-degree Celsius compared to the standard design, which alleviates the hot spot effect using the hybrid mode with series-connected after parallel-connected. In addition, the size of half-cell is smaller than that of the conventional cell, which means that the damaged area also will be smaller for half-cell if cracks occur under the influence of external force. At the same time, the traditional complex circuit is optimized by using the distributed junction box design, and the power loss can be further reduced in a cross layout of installation.

As the emerging market of new energy, Thailand shows an excellent market performance. Thailand Government implements Feed-in-Tariff (FIT), subsidy or refunding, public investment loan, tax relief, electricity price settlement and other policies, to support the development of photovoltaic power generation. It's reported that the renewable energy installed capacity of Thailand will reach to 19GW in 2036, and the ratio of renewable energy power generation will increase to 20% from 8%. As the first Chinese PV enterprise that enters into Thailand's market, Wuxi Suntech is not only highly praised by local customers, but also has made contribution to public good. We will spread hope, deliver green energy, and light every corner of the world by sunshine. The Renewable Energy 2018 will end on June 9. Welcome to Suntech's booth at L25 of Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre.
