Future Energy Asia 2020, Asia’s leading energy exhibition and conference, welcomed over 1,500 organisations, more than 5,000 delegates and over 100 leading industry experts at the latest edition of the exhibition and conference that shapes the future of natural gas, LNG, power generation and renewables in Asia. The three-day strategic conference provides a platform for public and private sectors to meet and discuss how Asian energy can move towards a cleaner, greener, modern and sustainable future.

Endorsed by Thailand’s Ministry of Energy and co-hosted by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and PTT Plc, the Future Energy Asia Exhibition and Conference is the region’s leading focal point of energy related exhibition and conference that brings together the complete energy value chain in one meeting space, with a focus on gas, oil, and renewable energy. The opening ceremony was graced by keynote speeches from Thailand’s energy leaders including Mr. Kulit Sombatsiri, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy, Mr. Viboon Rerksirathai, EGAT Governor, Mr. Chansin Treenuchagron, President and Chief Executive Officer, PTT Plc and Mr. Phongsthorn Thavisin, President and Chief Executive Officer, PTT Exploration and Production Plc who join to commemorate the start of an impactful discussion.

Chriptopher Hudson, President of DMG Events, the organiser of the Future Energy Asia Exhibition and Conference, said: “It is with great pleasure that we conclude yet another successful edition of Future Energy Asia, with a 20% increase in attendees. The transition to clean energy plays a vital role to the economic development and sustainability of Asia, as well as a critical step to realizing Thailand 4.0. Therefore, Future Energy Asia provides a strategic meeting place for all stakeholders, both private and public to meet, connect and establish long-term partnerships and alliances, as a way to help drive the energy transition.”

More importantly, the event played host to over 120 onsite conferences including an extensive range of strategic conferences from upstream, midstream and downstream stakeholders across the integrated energy value chain. Main features include the region’s key oil, natural gas and energy leaders that join to discuss dialogues on shaping the energy transformation for the next decade. With over 100 free technical conferences at FEA’s free-to-attend Centres of Technical Excellence Theaters (COTES), visitors were able to partake in interesting technical and technology talks that covered a wide-range of energy- related topics including energy transition and digitalisaton, as well as insights into the region’s newest and important energy projects.

Maria Sferruzza, President Asia Pacific of Baker Hughes who attended the conference as an exhibitor and speaker said: “Future Energy Asia provides opportunities for us as organizations to hear from the government, NOCs and the various players in the industry on the trends and the long-term strategies in reference to energy transition. The information will help us to position the company properly to support the operators and NOCs to move forward efficiently in the energy transition journey.”

On behalf of EGAT, Khalayakorn Suzuki, Chief, Liquefied Natural Gas Management Department expressed: “Future Energy Asia allows EGAT the opportunity to exchange information and connect with suppliers, as we are new buyers in the LNG business. The event also gives us more business networking opportunities. We saw a mix of new and well-known companies at the strategic conference, and we had the chance to exchange ideas and opportunities for future procurements.”

Following the success of this year, the much-anticipated edition of Future Energy Asia Exhibition & Conference (FEA 2021) will be held once again in Bangkok, from 3-5 March 2021 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC). The event will set a stage for NOCs and IOCs; power producers and utility companies; clean-tech providers; service companies and engineering contractors to foster a secure, affordable and low-carbon energy mix across Asia.

Energy stakeholders can also look forward to other energy related events co-hosted by DMG Events at the upcoming Gas Indonesia Summit & Exhibition 2020 held on 10-12 June 2020 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Along with the Gas Asia Summit Conference & Exhibition 2020 that will be held on 25-26 November 2020 in Beijing, China.
