Mr. Manit Boonprasert, SCG’s Home Solution Business Manager, reveals that the business plan will be focused on extending “Home Solution Center” branches. He says the company targets to open 20 more branches by 2013, covering Bangkok and other provinces as well. Currently, there are 12 Home Solution Centers; the company is hoping to make 14 branches available within this year.
“We see a business opportunity and market growth that coincides with behaviors of modern consumers who have a tendency to do their own research when constructing their residences. They seek advices and suggestions from experts, and at the same time, they require convenience such as “One Stop Solution,” which gives them advice, products, installation, and warranty all at the same place. “Home Solution Center” therefore is the business model that offers innovations in construction materials and decorations as well as service that cater to the customers’ needs, which include a complete home building system. In only three years, 12 branches have been opened. We received good responses from the customers as 97% of them are satisfied with our credibility, expertise, and product and service systems,” Mr. Manit says. He adds that “Home Solution Center” is managed under “Shop in Shop” framework, working with reseller shops to sustainably improve their potentials. We focus on being an expert in giving advicesthat answer to the customers’ needs and preventing problems. Product showroomsare set in a modern style and easy to browse and choose. Innovative products are designed for effective usage. Different types of services, such as advice, design, price estimation, and installation, are given by experts in their fields to cater to all types of homes.”
“Home owners have a tendency to get their hands on the construction details such as selecting construction materials. Before, only 2-3% of home owners would select their own roof tiles; but today around 20% of them choose their own tiles. Up to 30-40% of all home owners now choose their bathroom accessories. Home Solution Center offers all of the elements they needed from roofing, ceiling & wall, landscape, bathroom, surface covering, and kitchen solutions. All of these come with up to 10 years of installation warranty. Customers receive high standard products and services,” the SCG’s Home Solution Business Manager elaborates.
Additionally, Mr. Manit further adds “construction material market has continually been under fierce competition. Producers come up with many strategies to improve their products and services, while retailers continue to create an edge over their rivalries. They use two strategies, which include adding variety to the products such as tiles and ceramics, which see a 20% growth, and lowering the price by distributing goods through large outlets. But Home Solution Center offers a different strategy. Instead of selling just roof tiles, we offer roofing system, home cooling system, or bathroom solution, by experts who are more knowledgeable than salespeople. Not only customers get a house, they get high quality house.”
Additionally, Home Solution Center was first in operation in 2009. The first Home Solution Center was at Home Mart Bangna. In 2010, six more branches opened their doors to customers. They are 1) Home Solution Center at Home Mart Bangna, 2) Home Solution Center at Home Mart Nakhonchaisri in Nakhon Pathom Province, 3) Home Solution Center at Home Mart Pakthongchai Intersection in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, 4) Home Solution Center at Home Mart Ratchaphruek (Rama 5) in Nonthaburi Province, 5) Home Solution Center at Home Mart Mae Korn Intersection in Chiang Rai Province, and 6) Home Solution Center at Home Mart Hat Yai in Songkhla Province. Currently there are 12 branches, include (7) Home Solution Center at Home Mart Mae Klong in Samut Songkhram Province, (8) Home Solution Center at Home Mart near Government Complex in Sakon Nakhon Province, (9) Home Solution Center at Home Mart in front of Surin Train Station (10) Home
Solution Center at Home Mart in Ban Amphur in Chonburi Province, (11) Home Solution Center at Home Mart Mae Rim in Chiang Mai Province, and (12) Home Solution Center at Home Mart in Nakhon Sawan Province. Two more branches; namely Home Solution Center at Home Mart on Muang Chumpon Street in Chumpon Province and Home Solution Center at Home Mart Ta Chang in Chanthaburi Province, are expected to be opened within this year, Mr Manit concluded.
