By switching off its building facade and unnecessary lights during Earth Hour 2015

CapitaLand’s wholly-owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited, with all its properties in Thailand will continue environmental protection efforts to support Earth Hour for the ninth consecutive year. For this coming World Earth Hour Day on 28th March 2015, the facade and non-essential lights of the properties will be switched off for the whole night, starting from 8:30 pm (local time).

Mr Jean Keijdener, Ascott’s Country General Manager Thailand, said “Besides turning off the properties lights, we actively encourage all our stakeholders including residents, staff as well as tenants to take part in this environment protection activity. This ‘Green’ action can make a difference in creating a healthier environment in every community we are a part of.”

In additional to the Earth Hour campaign, Ascott has also been implementing and promoting its own ‘Green Concept, Go Green @ Ascott’ to staff and residents throughout the year via various campaigns and activities. For example; by placing ‘Ascott’s Go Green Signage’ in every apartment and public areas to encourage residents and staff to save energy. The ‘Dress Down Work Day’ which is held on the last Friday of the month encourages all staff and management to wear Ascott’s Go Green emblem polo shirts instead of staff uniforms to promote our ongoing commitment to the Ascott Green commitments.
