In a recent ceremony at Bangkok's Century Hotel, the 2018 Green Mining Award in the category of Eco-friendly Mining for a gypsum mineral plant was presented by the Ministry of Industry's Deputy Minsiter Dr. Somchai Hanhiran to Banjob Kaewkhong, Plant Manager of Bang Pa-In Plant who graciously accepted the award recognizing Gyproc's industry-leading, pollution-fighting efforts showcased at the facility. The accolade highlights the company's outstanding leadership in energy management, commitment to minimizing the environmental impact of its gypsum plant, and long-term strategy for reducing energy consumption.

"On behalf of Thai Gypsum Products Public Company Limited, I would like to thank the Department of Primary Industries and Mines, Ministry of Industry for selecting us for this award," Mr. Banjob said in his acceptance speech.

Buildings have a massive impact on the environment; both their construction and use contribute significantly to the environmental issues we face today. For this reason, Gyproc carefully monitors not only the environmental impact of the making of its products but of their usage during their whole life cycle. We are committed to promoting sustainable construction products and processes through the "Gyproc Go Green" or 3G philosophy, which focuses on conserving natural resources and reducing pollution in order to help reduce contributors to global warming. Gyproc's 3G methodology focuses on greener processes in the production and sales of products in three key areas: Green Products, or the use of eco-friendly, recycled materials free from health-threatening elements; Green Solutions, focusing on energy-saving production facilities with low Co2 emissions; and Green Manufacturing, which lies at the heart of Gyproc's continuing commitment to environmentalism.

The Green Mining Awards are given out by the government of Thailand in order to encourage the progress of the local mining industry in meeting "Green Mine" standards.
