On 7 August, Gloyta participated in the ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Closed Door Roundtable Meeting, where she shared her experience in establishing the Carbon Markets Club in 2021 to support carbon credit trading in Thailand’s voluntary carbon market. Meeting participants discussed and explored opportunities to form an ASEAN Common Carbon Framework (ACCF). This initiative aims to develop a regional carbon market ecosystem, fostering collaboration among ASEAN member states.
During the plenary session on 8 August, titled “Creating a High Integrity ASEAN Carbon Market,” Gloyta contributed her expertise alongside other distinguished panelists from Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam. The session focused on the development of a high-quality carbon credit market within ASEAN and further discussed the potential of the ASEAN Common Carbon Framework to operationalize the region’s carbon neutrality strategy.
Following the panel discussion, Gloyta engaged in media interviews, where she reflected on Thailand's voluntary carbon market. She elaborated on the critical role of regional collaboration in advancing ASEAN's carbon market and emphasized the importance of the ASEAN Common Carbon Framework (ACCF) in achieving regional climate goals.
In addition, the forum marked the official launch of the Malaysia Carbon Market Association (MCMA) to promote and accelerate the development of Malaysia’s carbon market.
