The event was organized to provide a platform for reviewing and exchanging views on the progress, challenges, and opportunities of sustainable development in Thailand and the Asia Pacific region. It was attended by over 120 participants from 10 countries, including Malaysia and Hong Kong. The main goal of the event was to establish a network of cooperation at both national and international levels, with a particular focus on environmental education and addressing four key issues:
- Sustainable food and agriculture
- Loss of biodiversity and ecosystems
- Equitable energy transition
- Education for sustainable development.
The event featured special lectures from emeritus professors, such as Emeritus Professor Surichai Wun'Gaeo, as well as presentations of research results from experts on SDGs from various institutions. Associate Professor Dr. Phanintra Teeranon, Assistant to the President of the University of Phayao, shared her knowledge on the topic of "Education for Sustainable Development in Practice: How to Teach ESD in the Face of Critical Sustainable Development Challenges."
