SET President Asadej Kongsiri mentioned that SET has launched collaborative financial education initiatives in celebration of SET's 50th anniversary under the theme "Make it 'Work' for Every Future" with an aim to empower Thais with financial literacy which is a fundamental necessity in today's world.
"These ambitious initiatives include a strategic partnership with SAM in the development of debt management resources and educational tools, supported by trained financial mentors serving as knowledge ambassadors to cultivate a robust financial culture. This renewal of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SAM to further the debt management and financial education program bespeaks our unwavering and mutual commitment to sustainably building a more financially literate and resilient society," SET President added.
SAM President Nartnaree Rattapat highlighted that the MOU renewal marks the continuation of cooperation with the SET into Phase 2 (2024-2026) following the successful completion of Phase 1 (2022-2024). The extended partnership aims to strengthen financial literacy, investment acumen, and debt management capabilities across a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including SAM's customer base, employees, and participants of the Debt Clinic by SAM program. Through jointly developed educational resources and materials, the collaboration has demonstrated significant success in expanding SAM's outreach efforts, effectively establishing essential foundations for improved household financial management. This program also aligns with the government's top-priority agenda to tackle Thailand's household debt challenges and build sustainable economic growth.
For over two decades, SET has been steadfast in its efforts to enhance public understanding of financial and investment landscapes, consistently delivering comprehensive educational resources and campaigns focused on financial planning, investment knowledge and effective debt management strategies.
