MOCA BANGKOK proudly presents the opening of the solo exhibition Untamed Melody Part 2

"Untamed Melody", the latest solo exhibition by Thaiwijit Puangkasemsomboon, which will unfold in two parts:

  • Part 1 at Four Seasons ART Space by MOCA BANGKOK
  • Part 2 at MOCA BANGKOK's Temporary Exhibition 1 and 2.

Thaiwijit Puangkasemsomboon's artistic journey has always been marked by an adventurous spirit and a sense of child-like experimentation. Drawing inspiration from diverse influences—ranging from globally renowned artists to lesser-known creators, designers, and architects—Thaiwijit seamlessly explores media, materials, and ideas. His works blur the boundaries between art, life, nature, and self, creating thought-provoking narratives that speak to both the personal and universal.

"Untamed Melody" serves as a poignant reflection on the intricate relationship between humanity and the environment. Thaiwijit, inspired by the complexities of human behavior, delves into how our actions—whether fueled by creativity or unchecked consumption—affect the world we share. His portraits and conceptual works highlight the consequences of human desires, posing questions about their role in the broader environmental and societal challenges.

The second part of the exhibition, presented at MOCA BANGKOK, will expand on the themes introduced in Part 1 by incorporating installations and sculptures. These large-scale works aim to confront viewers with the tangible outcomes of excessive consumption, showcasing the accumulation of waste generated by human behavior. Through immersive installations, Thaiwijit magnifies the impact of consumerism and invites audiences to critically examine the environmental toll of modern lifestyles.

Thaiwijit references the Thai saying, "A hundred fathers, a thousand mothers," to symbolize the diversity of human experiences, ideas, and habits. His imaginative portraits depict individuals from various walks of life, highlighting how their collective actions shape the world. By reflecting on the duality of the human mind—its ability to create and destroy—Thaiwijit encourages audiences to consider the delicate balance required to preserve our planet.

Through "Untamed Melody," Thaiwijit Puangkasemsomboon presents an urgent yet hopeful exploration of the interplay between human progress and its unintended consequences. His works challenge us to pause, reflect, and rethink our role in shaping a sustainable future.
