This conference served as a capacity-building platform for government agencies, policymakers, businesses, and key stakeholders in the ASEAN carbon market, attracting approximately 100 participants, including virtual attendees. Gloyta contributed to the capacity-building discussions by sharing insights on Thailand's carbon market landscape and fostering dialogue on regional carbon market integration. She also joined two panel discussions: "Country-Specific Deep Dive on Latest Carbon Market Policy & Regulatory Development", where she shared insights on the latest policies and developments in carbon markets in Thailand, and "Best Practices for Building Out a National Carbon Market Ecosystem", highlighting effective strategies for carbon market development. She also discussed the establishment of the Carbon Markets Club, spearheaded by Bangchak Corporation Plc. and BCPG Plc., aimed at supporting government efforts in driving the carbon market and raising awareness on the climate crisis.
This conference followed the signing of the MoC at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, in November 2024, where key carbon market associations, including the Thailand Carbon Markets Club (TCMC), Malaysia Carbon Market Association (MCMA), Indonesian Carbon Trade Association (IDCTA), and the ASEAN Association for Carbon Markets (AACM), formalized their commitment to strengthening regional carbon markets. The signatories are now working towards key initiatives outlined in the ACCF governance structure, focusing on advancing policy and regulatory frameworks, developing integrated market infrastructure, and promoting high-integrity carbon credit projects across the ASEAN region.
