During the event, the President of the University of Phayao Staff Council made a formal request for forgiveness. Afterwards, the president offered blessings to all university staff and representatives from various departments. They then performed the water pouring ceremony to pay respects to the president and senior members in succession.
The celebration also included a Lanna-style spicy minced meat salad (Lab Mueang) cooking competition, a ceremonial parade contest, and various cultural activities aimed at preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Northern Thai culture. These events fostered unity among university departments, with each unit given the opportunity to participate. In addition, food booths were set up by various departments, showcasing traditional snacks and refreshments.
The water pouring ceremony is a significant event in the university's continuous efforts to uphold and preserve Thai traditions, specifically during the Songkran Festival. This ceremony is in line with Strategic Goal 4, which aims to promote arts and culture, strengthen national identity, and instill pride in Thai heritage.
