Shopee, a leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Brazil, continues contributing to Thailand's digital economy that has earned the trust of Thai consumers, continues to contribute to the country's digital economy as it enters its 10th year. In tandem with its year-end 12.12 campaign, Shopee reinforced its commitment to supporting the growth of local entrepreneurs and MSMEs by offering total discounts worth over THB 3.2 Trillion, while delivering strong sales momentum across the platform.

Strong 12.12 Performance Underscores Shopee's Role in Empowering Thai MSMEs

Shopee reported strong platform-wide performance during the 12.12 campaign, reinforcing its role in driving growth for local sellers and Thai MSMEs.

Within the first two hours of December 12, sales generated by Thai MSMEs on Shopee surged by more than 14 times compared with the same period on a normal day. This growth highlights Shopee's continued ability to support MSME expansion nationwide, reflecting a decade-long commitment to strengthening Thailand's e-commerce ecosystem.

Several product categories from local sellers and MSMEs recorded significant year-on-year growth compared with the 12.12 campaign last year. These included gasoline motorcycles, bags, and packaged snacks such as biscuits, cookies, and wafers, underscoring the diverse growth opportunities across both durable and fast-moving consumer goods on the platform.

Beyond seller enablement, Shopee also demonstrated its ability to reduce geographical barriers and expand market access nationwide. During the 12.12 campaign, Yala emerged as the top destination province generating the highest sales for local sellers and MSMEs. In addition, Narathiwat, Pattani, Mukdahan, Sing Buri, and Amnat Charoen recorded notable sales growth compared with normal periods, highlighting how Thais across the country are enjoying more convenience on Shopee.

While Shopee's content ecosystem played a critical role in amplifying the reach of local products. During the 12.12 campaign, Shopee Video helped drive a more than 14-fold increase in the number of items sold from local MSME stores compared with the same period last year. highlighting the growing impact of content and engagement in supporting seller growth.

Enhancing the Shopping Experience with Speed, Rewards, and Great Value

More users across Thailand are also enjoying the fast and reliable deliveries on Shopee during the 12.12 campaign, with approximately 20 million items delivered via Instant Delivery and Express Delivery services.

The highest-value order using express and instant delivery services reached approximately THB 200,000, reflecting strong consumer confidence in purchasing high-value items and trust in Shopee's fulfilment speeds.

Meanwhile, the mobile and tablets category recorded the highest usage of express delivery services, with order volume increasing 7.5 times compared between the initial launch period of the service and the 12.12 campaign. This trend underscores the important role of fast delivery in accelerating consumer purchase decisions.

Shopee also saw strong momentum in its loyalty ecosystem, with Shopee VIP membership subscriptions increasing by approximately 89 times since the program launched. This growth reflects rising consumer demand for premium benefits and services, as well as the success of Shopee VIP in driving loyalty through large-scale campaigns.

In celebration of Shopee's 10th anniversary, a series of special activities were introduced during the 12.12 campaign. A key highlight was the Shopee Birthday Surprise, which generated strong user engagement, including approximately 10 million campaign page visits, demonstrating sustained consumer interest in Shopee's special promotions.

This 12.12 marks Shopee's 10th year of supporting and enabling Thai businesses to enter the digital economy and find success through e-commerce. It also marks 10 years of bringing great deals, more engaging experiences, and faster deliveries to shoppers all across Thailand.
