Nestle (Thai) Ltd. and the Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly develop quality coffee varieties and promote sustainable coffee cultivation in the northern region and beyond. The collaboration aims to share knowledge on coffee cultivation based on Regenerative Agriculture practices, enabling coffee farmers to produce high-quality yields, adapt to climate change, and build stable incomes while caring for the environment, all to drive the Thai coffee industry toward sustainable growth.
Mr. Victor Seah, Chairman and CEO of Nestle Indochina, stated, "Nestle has collaborated with the Doi Tung Development Project (DTDP) operating in Chiang Rai province since 1989, focusing on research into coffee varieties at our experimental coffee farm in the Doi Tung area. In alignment with the Royal Initiative projects, we have been able to develop coffee varieties suitable for cultivation in the North. This partnership marks another significant step in jointly developing the potential of Thai coffee farming from the upstream level through the development of quality coffee varieties suitable for various areas, as well as promoting regenerative agriculture to sustainably care for and restore the environment. We will promote high-quality coffee plantlets and share knowledge in various communities to create stable income opportunities for Thai farmers. This is in line with Nestle's business philosophy of Creating Shared Value (CSV). We believe that this cooperation will help elevate the Thai coffee industry to thrive sustainably, while creating positive change for farmers, communities, and the environment."

Nestle and the Mae Fah Luang Foundation share the same goals and are committed to enhancing coffee cultivation and improving the livelihoods of farmers through integrated operations and community support, as well as supporting and promoting products from local communities to build a sustainable coffee supply chain for the future.
