M.L. Peekthong Thongyai, Chief Executive Officer of PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR), revealed that in the second quarter of 2026, OR recorded sales and service revenue of THB 205,667 million, up THB 29,542 million or 16.8% quarter-on-quarter across all business groups. EBITDA stood at THB 53 million, down THB 7,047 million or 99.3% from the previous quarter. Although overall revenue increased, EBITDA was pressured by several factors, including slowing energy demand and heightened energy price volatility amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Meanwhile, the Lifestyle business group continued to grow its EBITDA. During the quarter, Cafe Amazon sold 117 million cups, an increase of 5 million cups or 4.5%, marking its highest sales volume on record.
For the first half of 2026, OR recorded sales and service revenue of THB 381,793 million, up THB 32,205 million or 9.2% compared to same period last year, driven by higher average selling prices resulting from the conflict in the Middle East, despite a decline in sales volume. EBITDA amounted to THB 7,153 million, down 35.2% year-on-year, mainly due to lower average gross profit per litre in the Mobility and Global business groups. Meanwhile, the Lifestyle business group improved, supported by higher gross profit from both food and beverage retail and other retail businesses.
Recently, OR signed an Expansion Partnership Agreement with The Minor Food Group Public Company Limited to expand four key restaurant brands, including The Pizza Company, Dairy Queen, The Steak & More, and Chiho Ramen, within OR service stations and commercial areas. The initiative aims to develop these locations into Food & Lifestyle Destinations that cater to modern consumer behaviour and enhance the OR Ecosystem. For its international operations, OR has progressively restructured its investments to improve efficiency, including the dissolution of non-operating subsidiaries in Lao PDR and Vietnam in accordance with its portfolio management plan without affecting its core businesses.
OR continues to drive its long-term growth strategy through investments in future businesses, accelerating the expansion of the EV Station PluZ charging network alongside the development of digital platforms to meet modern consumer needs. To reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, the Company has increased the share of energy transported through pipeline systems through its investment in Thai Pipeline Network Company Limited ("TPN"), enhancing logistics efficiency. OR also promotes environmentally friendly packaging by increasing the proportion of recycled plastic resin in lubricant packaging, helping reduce the use of virgin plastic by 1,800 tonnes per year. In its Lifestyle business, OR opened the world's first Cafe Amazon Experience flagship store in Bangkok's Ari neighbourhood, elevating the customer experience and expanding the brand into a Lifestyle Destination. OR continues to operate under the concept of "Empowering All Toward Inclusive Growth" through key initiatives such as the Thai Det Project, which supports more than 500 local entrepreneurs and community enterprises by increasing opportunities, generating income, and raising product standards. Cafe Amazon for Chance creates sustainable employment and income opportunities for persons with disabilities, older persons, and vulnerable groups.
OR also reaffirmed its leadership in sustainability by being selected as a member of the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices (DJ BIC) Emerging Markets Index for the third consecutive year. The Company received the highest score in the Retailing industry from S&P Global's Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), reflecting its commitment to sustainable business practices under the "OR Term Okad Dee Dee Dee" or "OR Empowering Opportunity for 3 Good Dimensions" concept, which seeks to create economic value alongside sustainable value for society, communities, and the environment.
"Although this quarter's performance was pressured by global economic factors, volatility in global energy markets, and rising operating costs, OR continues to invest in future businesses, including clean energy, digital platforms, and food and beverage businesses, which form an important foundation for long-term growth. Today's strategic investments will strengthen OR's ability to generate sustainable returns for shareholders while creating value for consumers, society, and the country in the future," M.L. Peekthong concluded.
