Miss International Queen(R) 2026, organised by Tiffany's Show Pattaya, hosted "THE HIGH TEA HERITAGE: CULTURE & COUTURE" under the theme "A Legacy in Every Thread" at The Authors' Lounge, Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok. Celebrating the pageant's 20th anniversary, the exclusive event showcased the richness of Thai heritage through a runway presentation featuring former Miss International Queen titleholders and 27 contestants from around the world.
The event welcomed members of the diplomatic corps from various countries, designers, fashion industry representatives, and members of the media. Guests were treated to a fashion showcase featuring four styles of Chut Thai Phra Ratcha Niyom, alongside contemporary creations crafted from Khomapastr (Kho-ma-phat) textiles.
The show highlighted four traditional Royal Thai Costume styles: Thai Ruean Ton, Thai Chitralada, Thai Amarin, and Thai Dusit. These styles reflect Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother's vision to preserve and elevate Thai national attire into a living, evolving cultural legacy.
The showcase coincides with Thailand's nomination of "Thai Costume: Knowledge, Craftsmanship, and Practices of the Thai National Dress" for inscription on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity for 2026. The event served as a vital global platform to highlight the artistry and heritage behind Thai dress.
The showcase also featured modern interpretations of Khomapastr's 78-year hand-printing heritage, reinterpreted by three leading Thai fashion houses: LA BOUTIQUE led by Brand Director Patcharawat Trakarnsantikul and Creative Director Phurinat Wongsathapornsakul, KANAPOT by Kanapot Aunsorn, and NARONG by Narong Ketkaew, accessorized with fine pearls from Prima Pearl. The collections demonstrated how traditional Thai craftsmanship seamlessly transforms into contemporary global fashion.
Adding a meaningful dimension to the runway was the return of three former Miss International Queen(R) titleholders, each representing a different chapter in the pageant's 20-year journey. The LA BOUTIQUE segment opened with Sammy-Sirapassorn Atthayakorn (Miss International Queen 2011) and closed with Midori Monet (Miss International Queen(R) 2025). The runway then continued with collections by KANAPOT and NARONG, before Jiratchaya Sirimongkolnawin, Miss International Queen(R) 2016, brought the fashion showcase to a memorable close.
Alisa Phanthusak Kunpalin, Managing Director of Tiffany's Show Pattaya and Chairperson of Miss International Queen, said "For two decades, Miss International Queen(R) has been more than a pageant. It has provided a global platform for people to connect through their stories, talents, and identities. The High Tea Heritage: Culture & Couture builds on the strength of this platform to bring Thai cultural heritage to international audiences, demonstrating how traditional Thai dress, craftsmanship, and contemporary fashion can come together beautifully.
"We are deeply grateful to Khomapastr for sharing its remarkable hand-printing heritage with us, and to leading Thai fashion brands LA BOUTIQUE, KANAPOT and NARONG for bringing this traditional craftsmanship into a contemporary fashion context while preserving the stories and values at its heart." Our thanks also go to Prima Pearl for adding the perfect finishing touch to every look, and to our former titleholders and all 27 contestants for bringing the collections to life and sharing the stories of Thai textiles, design, and culture with audiences around the world. We hope this experience will amplify the spirit of Thailand Pride and further elevate Thai textiles, fashion, and tourism on the international stage."
The event also marked the beginning of the delegates' journey to Hua Hin, connecting the Bangkok runway with the birthplace of Khomapastr. During the visit, contestants will trace the textile from runway to origin while discovering the craftsmanship, local way of life, and distinctive character of Hua Hin. They will then share these experiences with their followers around the world through their own perspectives.
Beyond the runway, the event showcased Thai culinary art as soft power through a curated afternoon tea pairing authentic Thai delicacies with refined hospitality.
