A total of 49 students across six teams are taking part in this year's competition. Each team has been tasked with developing an Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) plan to position MR. D.I.Y. as a destination for the festive year-end season among Gen X and Gen Y consumers. The assignment covers market and competitor analysis, customer insight development, strategic planning and budget management, with a strong emphasis on strategic thinking, creativity and commercial feasibility. Through the competition, students are able to apply classroom knowledge to a practical business scenario and develop ideas that can be further built upon in the future.
Mr. Arnupharp Kongmalai, Vice President of Marketing at MR. D.I.Y. Holding (Thailand) Public Company Limited, said, "We believe education is a vital foundation for developing people and the country, while hands-on experience is equally important in preparing students for the world of work. The 'Ultimate Marketing Plan Contest' is one of the initiatives under the academic cooperation MOU between MR. D.I.Y. and the Faculty of Management Sciences, Kasetsart University. Through this collaboration, we bring real business knowledge and case studies into the learning process, giving students the opportunity to practice critical thinking, analysis, planning, and problem-solving in real-world scenarios. These experiences help strengthen not only their professional skills, but also their confidence and understanding of the workplace. As MR. D.I.Y. celebrates 10 years of growing alongside the Thai people, we remain committed to creating opportunities and sharing knowledge that will help the next generation develop into capable professionals."
Over the course of the partnership, MR. D.I.Y. and the Faculty of Management Sciences, Kasetsart University, have worked together to create learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. Real world business case studies have been incorporated into academic learning, benefiting more than 280 students, alongside activities designed to develop practical skills and prepare students for their future careers. The collaboration forms part of the "MR. D.I.Y. Cares" project, which has been running for more than eight years and encompasses the Company's environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments. Through the programme, MR. D.I.Y. continues to support the development of young people, improve quality of life and create a lasting positive impact on communities and society.
