Qualifying proved to be extremely competitive, with only a few tenths of a second separating the leading cars. Iaro secured P4 in his qualifying session, while Sandy managed P3 in his, putting the team in a strong position heading into the weekend's two races.
Saturday's race saw Iaro take the start and deliver a consistent opening stint. However, several track limits violations resulted in a five-second penalty during the pitstop. Sandy took over for the second half of the race, rejoining with a comfortable gap both ahead and behind. With little opportunity to challenge or defend, he brought the car home in a lonely but solid fourth place.
Sunday brought a very different story. Taking the start, Sandy made an aggressive move into the opening corners to seize the race lead. From there, he controlled the pace throughout his entire stint, building a solid advantage before handing the car over to Iaro.
The chasing competitors pushed hard during the final stint, steadily reducing the gap, but ultimately ran out of laps to mount a challenge. Iaro held his nerve to bring the #888 Audi across the finish line in first place, securing the his and Sandy's first GT3 victory of the season.
After a challenging Saturday, the Sunday result was a fantastic reward for the entire B-Quik Absolute Racing team and a confidence boost for the remainder of the championship.
'I'm super proud today, especially of my teammate Iaro who today kept his composure in difficult conditions and mounting pressure from behind. We did everything we could today, so coming out with a win feels incredible after some of our struggles this season. Now we're looking forward to the season finale in December!'
With the first victory of the season now secured, Sandy and Iaro will be looking to carry this momentum into the final round of the Thailand Super Series on the 11-13 of December.
