Bangkok--August 13--TUSED The Thailand-U.S. Educational Foundation (Fulbright) announces the annual competition for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program for mid-career professionals and the Thai Visiting Scholar Program for lecturers and senior scholars for the 1998-99 academic year. The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program is a non-degree program of intern- ship and non-degree study in the U.S. for mid-career Thai professionals who have at least five years work experience and have a bachelor's degree or higher. Up to two grants will be offered to candidates professionally engaged in the fields of Agriculture Development/Agricultural Economics, Communications/Journalism, Drug Abuse Prevention, Economic Development, Educational Planning, Finance and Banking, Human Resource Management/Personnel, Law and Human Rights, Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Public Health Policy and Management, Public Policy Analysis and Public Administation, Technology Policy and Management, and Urban Regional Planning. The Thai Visiting Scholar Program enables Thai lecturers and senior Thai scholars to lecture, pursue research or undertake special projects as well as familiarize themselves with the state of their discipline in American institutions for a period of four to six months. Up to three awards are available for this years competition, two of which are reserved for university/faculty members.
