The purpose of this visit was to deepen understanding of the EECO's roles and responsibilities in driving the development of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), a strategic area vital to Thailand's economic future. The EEC plays a central role in enhancing the country's global competitiveness through advanced technology, innovation, and modern infrastructure.
The program also offered participants the opportunity to gain insights into policy implementation, area management, and investment promotion in targeted industries through direct exchanges with government officials.
Attendees received an in-depth briefing on the EECO's mission to promote and develop key industries such as next-generation automotive, smart electronics, integrated medical services, and the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economy. They also learned about major infrastructure projects, including the deep-sea port, high-speed rail connecting three airports, U-Tapao Airport, and smart city initiatives, all designed to improve quality of life and attract international investment.
The delegation actively engaged in discussions on a wide range of topics, including labor management, large-scale infrastructure development, community participation, and the opportunities and challenges faced by investors in the EEC. They also exchanged perspectives on Thailand's logistics potential and the strategic importance of the EEC region.
This study visit served as a meaningful platform for strategic dialogue among government, academia, and the business community, fostering economic collaboration and helping to lay the foundation for sustainable development at both regional and national levels.
