KTC Promotes Health Check-ups for Thais to Detect Risks with Cost Efficiency

As heart disease and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, and high cholesterol remain "silent killers" that develop gradually without showing symptoms in early stages, regular health check-ups play a crucial role in detecting abnormal findings early particularly as Thailand enters an aging era and working-age individuals encounter growing risk factors from prolonged sitting, consuming strongly flavored foods and beverages, lack of exercise, and stress from fast-paced lifestyles.

KTC Promotes Health Check-ups for Thais to Detect Risks with Cost Efficiency

Data from the Department of Disease Control (DDC) showed that in 2022, more than 70,000 Thais died from heart disease and cardiovascular diseases an average of 8 people every hour. By 2025, patient numbers are expected to reach 1.7 million. Over one in four Thais are obese, making it one of the most significant risk factors accelerating the onset of heart disease. With patient numbers rising, annual health check-ups act as an essential early warning system, helping detect irregularities and manage risks before symptoms appear.

According to King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, The Thai Red Cross Society, standard health check-ups packages include health assessment programs designed to assess major health risks such as blood sugar and cholesterol levels, liver and kidney function, blood cell counts, chest X-rays, and electrocardiogram (ECG) tests. These results give physicians essential information to identify risk factors early and offer personalized guidance before small irregularities develop into serious health issues down the line.

Miss Sireerat Corvanich, Head of Credit Card Marketing Division at Krungthai Card Public Company Limited or "KTC", stated, "One of the key barriers preventing Thais from undergoing health check-ups is the upfront cost, particularly during periods when living expenses are high. This often leads many families to delay screenings even though they understand the importance of regular health evaluations. KTC believes that enabling Thais to access health screenings even one year earlier presents a critical opportunity to reduce future medical expenses and contributes to strengthening long-term health security for Thai society. KTC's role as a financial institution is to operationalize proactive health by providing cost-reducing solutions such as 0% installment plans, cashback rewards, and exclusive privileges from our nationwide hospital network. KTC seeks to ensure that all member families can access health check-ups at the right time, without the burden of large upfront payments."
