UD Trucks Thailand has announced strong first-quarter 2026 results, outperforming Thailand's truck market with a market share of 13%, representing growth of more than 100% compared with the same period last year. This achievement reinforces customer confidence in UD Trucks' Euro 5 engine technology and highlights the company's commitment to being a strong business partner helping transport operators navigate the global energy crisis.
The company also showcased the Quester MY2026, featuring advanced fuel-efficiency technology, and announced plans to expand its service network to a total of 26 locations nationwide within this year, further strengthening comprehensive customer support across Thailand. The transportation and logistics industry remains a critical backbone of the Thai economy.
Wilawan Vispapaew, Managing Director of UD Trucks Corporation (Thailand) Co., Ltd., stated:
"The global energy crisis in 2026 and rising diesel prices have significantly increased operating costs for transportation businesses. As a result, customers and fleet operators are placing greater emphasis than ever on return on investment, fuel efficiency, and maintaining business liquidity.
Despite these challenges, UD Trucks has successfully expanded its market share in Thailand to 13% during the first quarter of 2026. This success is driven by customers' confidence in our products, which deliver both strong performance and excellent fuel efficiency. In addition, we have earned the trust of major fleet operators, leading to a growing number of UD Trucks vehicles on the road. Real-world performance has proven the effectiveness of our products and generated positive word-of-mouth recommendations."
In particular, the new UD Quester MY2026 has been exceptionally well received by customers. Equipped with an 8-liter engine delivering up to 350 horsepower, it is paired with the ESCOT automated manual transmission (AMT), UD Trucks' proprietary technology renowned for its fuel-saving performance.
The ESCOT transmission automatically calculates and selects the optimal gear at the right moment, minimizing fuel loss caused by inefficient gear shifting. It also helps reduce driver fatigue, enabling safer and more efficient vehicle operation.
In addition, the vehicle complies with Euro 5 emission standards and is equipped with an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) after-treatment system, providing a sustainable and environmentally responsible solution for modern transport operations.
Strengthening Dealer Partnerships and Expanding Market Reach
As part of its market expansion strategy, UD Trucks places strong emphasis on supporting its officially appointed Private Dealers. These dealers possess deep knowledge of local markets and customer needs, enabling the company to effectively penetrate new market segments while maintaining a strong customer base in construction transport and general logistics sectors. These industries require trucks that deliver high performance, durability, and maximum uptime.
Currently, UD Trucks operates 23 service centers nationwide, providing customers with world-class service standards. The company plans to open three additional service centers by the end of 2026 through its appointed dealer network, bringing the total number of service centers to 26 nationwide.
This continued expansion underscores UD Trucks' commitment to enhancing after-sales service standards, enabling faster customer support, reducing maintenance downtime, and ensuring maximum confidence throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
Driving the Future with Uptime Centers
Wilawan added:
"In addition to product development, we continue to invest in enhancing our after-sales service capabilities. We are transforming our service centers into Uptime Centers, leveraging digital technologies and vehicle data analytics to proactively monitor vehicle conditions and alert customers before issues arise that could impact operations.
Our goal is not simply to repair vehicles after a breakdown occurs. We aim to prevent problems before they happen, reduce downtime, increase uptime, and help customers plan maintenance more efficiently. This directly contributes to better cost control and greater business continuity.
Amid ongoing economic uncertainty and fluctuating operating costs, UD Trucks remains committed to being a trusted business partner, helping transportation operators run their businesses with confidence through efficient products, modern services, and a strong nationwide support network."
