WHA Congratulates CHANG-AN on the Official Opening of Its First Overseas NEV Manufacturing Plant in Thailand at WHA Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 4

The Rayong plant is equipped with state-of-the-art production lines across five main workshops: welding, painting, assembly, engine assembly, and battery assembly units. The first phase will initially support an annual production capacity of 100,000 vehicles, with plans to expand to 200,000 units per year in the second phase. This facility is poised to become a key manufacturing hub for right-hand drive vehicles, serving markets in Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand—reinforcing Thailand's strategic role in CHANG-AN's global supply chain.

The ChangAn Automobile Rayong Factory is designed with a strong focus on environmental sustainability. It incorporates cutting-edge, high-efficiency equipment and low-carbon processes. Additionally, the company plans to install a 14-megawatt solar power system that will supply up to 45% of the factory's total electricity consumption—significantly, reducing carbon emissions.

Beyond its technological advancements, the plant is expected to create more than 30,000 jobs across the value chain, making a significant contribution to the economic development of Rayong Province. This milestone underscores CHANG-AN's commitment to advancing Thailand's automotive industry, while supporting environmental goals and promoting long-term economic growth in the country. Chang-An's investment demonstrates the potential and readiness of WHA Industrial Estate to meet the demands of global investors, particularly in the rapidly growing electric vehicle industry.

WHAID is committed to supporting the growth of customers like Chang-An and driving Thailand to become a modern and environmentally-friendly automotive manufacturing hub in the region, in line with WHA Group's mission "WHA: WE SHAPE The Future."
