GreenIO, a Thai AIoT solutions company focused on environmental sustainability, announced today an expanded collaboration with Qualcomm Incorporated to accelerate deployment of Edge AI and AI on Device technologies addressing public health challenges, beginning with PM2.5 air pollution.

The collaboration integrates Qualcomm's edge computing and AI platforms with GreenIO's local expertise to deliver fast, energy efficient, and privacy preserving air quality intelligence for schools, hospitals, and communities. Processing data directly on devices improves reliability and decision making—critical for public sector and smart city needs.

GreenIO has deployed more than 200 AI-enabled monitoring units across 10 provinces, reaching over 200,000 people. Installed in schools, clinics, and community hubs, the devices provide real-time insights that support proactive health and safety measures.

Using the Qualcomm-powered Edge AI, the system analyzes PM2.5 and other environmental factors—including CO?, temperature, humidity, and VOCs—on device, reducing latency, lowering energy use, and ensuring continuity even with unstable connectivity.

Mr. Ittichai Phoomsirivilai, Managing Director and Co-Founder of GreenIO said, "PM2.5 is not only an environmental issue—it is a public health challenge that affects people's daily lives. Our goal has always been to make advanced AIoT technology practical and accessible. By working with Qualcomm, we can run AI directly on our devices, delivering real-time, reliable insights where they matter most. This collaboration shows how global technology and local innovation can come together to create meaningful, measurable impact for Thai communities."

Ms. Nies Purwati, Senior Director Government Affairs for South East Asia, Qualcomm International Inc. said, "Qualcomm supports GreenIO to develop solutions using advanced Edge AI technology. The support from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has been essential to the success of the program, enabling deployments in schools and hospitals to help protect communities with real?time insights. We look forward to seeing Thai start?ups build new Edge AI applications and hardware using platforms such as the Qualcomm AI Hub and Arduino."

During the event, Qualcomm, GreenIO, AIAT, and DEPA participated in a panel, "From Edge AI to Real World Impact: Building Thailand's Tech for Good Ecosystem," highlighting the role of Edge AI in enabling real-time, secure, and sustainable solutions for public sector and smart city applications.
