ASA Architect Expo 2026 highlights exhibitions and activities under the theme "SATI : WISDOM : PROMPT"

Mr. Asae Sukhyanga, President of the Association of Siamese Architect under Royal Patronage, revealed that preparations for ASA Architect Expo 2026 are progressing steadily. The event is the largest building technology exposition and the most influential architectural exhibition in ASEAN. Under the theme "SATI : WISDOM : PROMPT", the exhibition aims to establish a new foundation of knowledge in response to changes in the way people live and work today. As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly present in many fields, it is necessary to understand and explore appropriate approaches within the context of society, including the fields of architectural design and construction technology.

ASA Architect Expo, now held for the 38th time, reflects a continued commitment to accumulate, create, and pass on knowledge within the profession. The event aims to inspire architects and designers to move forward together toward a sustainable future. With the upcoming 100th anniversary of the Association of Siamese Architects in the coming years, ASA Architect Expo 2026 will serve as one of the most comprehensive platforms to present Thai architecture to the international community. The total exhibition area will cover more than 75,000 square meters. Around 70,000 square meters will be dedicated to product and construction technology exhibitors, with over 900 leading brands from Thailand and abroad participating. Another 5,500 square meters will be allocated to exhibitions organized by the Association, featuring works from four professional organizations, more than 120 member firms, and over 40 educational institutions nationwide.

Mr. Jaturont Kingminghae, Chair of ASA Architect Expo 2026, added that the exhibition highlights will include several main sections. The main exhibition will feature Thai Intelligence, presenting design processes shaped by human wisdom as the foundation of contemporary architecture and society. Another exhibition, ASA All Member: Thailand Only, will present works by members of the Association through diverse ways of thinking and living, reflecting real-life contexts that influence the design process and result in unique creative expressions. The event will also present ASA Emerging 2026, a platform for new-generation architects and designers, both individuals and studios, to present their work and ideas. The exhibition aims to show the changing roles of contemporary designers and their contribution to shaping Thai society within an international context.

In addition, the academic exhibition section will include three major activities presented together, including 1. the ASA Experimental Design Competition, an international conceptual design competition under the theme "Hybridized Wisdom", 2. the Young Generation Workshop together with the ASA Educational Institute Exhibition, presenting practical design works developed through collaboration between faculty members and students from architectural schools across the country, interpreting the concept of "CRAFT" through the theme "SATI : WISDOM : PROMPT - Embrace Artificial Intelligence / Honor Human Craft and Timeless Wisdom", raising questions for the architectural profession on how to move forward amid global change and the growing role of technology, with each institution exploring the idea of "Digital Craft" through the study and interpretation of traditional craftsmanship and its connection with digital technology, and 3. the CEA x ASA : PROMPT-PLACE Design Competition & Exhibition.

The CEA x ASA : PROMPT-PLACE Design Competition & Exhibition presents award-winning works and selected entries from the competition, reflecting diverse perspectives on the meaning of "Place" in contemporary Thai society and the potential of design in imagining the future of urban and community spaces across all four regions of Thailand. The exhibition is a collaboration between the Creative Economy Agency (CEA) and the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA), created to provide a platform for architects, designers, and the younger generation to jointly explore new possibilities of "Place" in a world where cities and society are rapidly changing. It considers place not only as physical space, but also as a space of meaning, memory, and the relationships of people, culture, and ways of life, using PROMPT as a starting word to stimulate interpretation and the free development of design ideas, while PLACE reflects the meaning of space in multiple dimensions, including public space, social space, learning space, and cultural space. The section also includes the Exhibition of Outstanding Architectural Thesis Competition Works of the Year (THESIS OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2026).

Another highlight is the exhibition of outstanding works and professional collaborations, bringing together works that aim to contribute creatively to social development. These include the ASA TOD exhibition, presenting alternative approaches to land development around public transportation stations based on the concept of Transit Oriented Development (TOD), followed by exhibitions by the Thailand Interior Designers Association (TIDA), the Thai Association of Landscape Architects (TALA), and the Thai Urban Designers Association (TUDA), each of which will also present its own interesting activities. In addition, there will be exhibitions of public sector and other organizational design competitions, exhibitions by the Urban Activities and Public Policy Section, the ASA Conservation exhibition, where the 2026 Architectural Conservation Awards will be presented, the ASA Phrae urban activities exhibition, exhibitions of public sector and other organizational design competitions, and exhibitions by regional architectural associations.

The Chairman of ASA Architect Expo 2026 added that there are many more interesting features of Architect'69 in the activities and services area, including the Tripartite Activity (ASA / ACT / CDAST), which serves as a central space supporting cooperation among three institutions, namely the Association of Siamese Architects, the Architect Council of Thailand, and the Council of Deans of Architecture Schools of Thailand. The area will provide information on legal matters and professional ethics and will include a volunteer architects' corner offering advice on architecture, legal matters, and the profession. It will also mark the return of the Mor-Baan Clinic, a popular area where visitors will have the opportunity to meet and speak with professional architects from various fields, who will provide direct advice on home and building improvement. There will also be the Architecture Preparation Clinic, an area for school students, university students, and parents seeking information to prepare for further study, as well as for a future career in architecture.

As for the smaller activities that members and visitors will find within Architect'69, these include ASA CLUB, a regular meeting and relaxation point for ASA members, ASA SHOP, a space selling books and Association souvenirs, ASA Book Shop, a corner for books from educational institutions and architectural organizations, ASA KIDS CLUB, a creative area for children, youth, and families, and the KITBLOX & FAMILY CORNER, where children can build their own environments using brightly colored giant blocks, helping to support development, planning skills, and self-discovery. The program concludes with ASA Night : GALA DINNER, a special evening bringing together members of the Association of Siamese Architects and invited guests from various fields in a gala dinner atmosphere, together with a prestigious architectural awards presentation celebrating professional achievement and strengthening relationships within the architectural community, and ASA Day Hey, a concert that will serve as a gathering point for members of all generations to meet in a friendly atmosphere.

However, there are many other interesting exhibitions and activities that visitors are encouraged to experience for themselves, including the 2026 Architectural Design Awards exhibition. The award-winning works reflect design concepts, design methods, and responses to context through buildings completed in the contemporary period. The awards are divided into two levels, the ASA Gold Award and the ASA Silver Award. The winning works cover many building types and a wide range of scales, reflecting the role of architecture and the architectural profession in shaping the quality of spaces, cities, and people's lives. This is the highest architectural design award in Thailand. Another area not to be missed is the CENTER STAGE FORUM, the event's central activity stage for talks, presentations, and public activities, creating a space for the exchange of ideas among architects, designers, and visitors.
