Mrs. Gloyta Nathalang, Senior Executive Vice President, Sustainability Management and Corporate Communications, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, said "Bangchak is pleased to continue supporting World Bee Day and to witness the progress of the Bang Nam Phueng Large Farm Stingless Beekeeper Group. This year marks another important milestone as the group has successfully elevated its stingless beekeeping practices to achieve certification under Thai FDA, BCG, and Self-Reliant Community Development (MPCh) standards. These achievements reflect the integration of environmental care, chemical-free green spaces, and grassroots economic development growing together."
Mr. Anon Buranapakdee, District Chief of Phra Pradaeng, said "Global bee populations are declining due to the impacts of chemical use and climate change. Bees and stingless bees play an important role in ecosystems and agriculture. This event helps support nature conservation while also promoting livelihoods, increasing community income, and supporting sustainable eco-tourism in the Bang Kachao area."
Ms. Khwanta Lorphet, Samut Prakan Provincial Agricultural Extension Officer, said that the Provincial Agricultural Extension Office has supported the Bang Nam Phueng Large Farm Stingless Beekeeper Group through a high-value agricultural supply chain development project. Support has included providing breeding hives, food plants, GAP-standard training, and laboratory analysis of key compounds in honey and propolis to help increase product value and farmers' income.
Currently, the Bang Nam Phueng Large Farm Stingless Beekeeper Group has 124 members and has expanded from 900 to 1,100 hives, reflecting the area's ecological richness and low chemical exposure. The group's Thai FDA-certified stingless bee honey products are sold under the community brand at Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market, helping generate stable income for local residents. Those interested in purchasing stingless bee honey or joining stingless beekeeping workshops may contact Tel. 08-9440-3362.
The event also featured a special talk by Mr. Kitti Singhapad, one of Thailand's leading news anchors, who shared his experiences as a beginner beekeeper at "Na 3D" in Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province, which attracted strong interest from participants. Other highlights included a certification ceremony awarding Thai FDA, Self-Reliant Community Development (MPCh), BCG, and GAP standards to group members, a stingless beehive contest, and educational exhibitions by government agencies.
For over 40 years, Bangchak has grown sustainably alongside neighboring communities while continuing to support society and environmental stewardship.
